We received a request from a Taiwanese customer working in Kumamoto to apply for a permanent residence permit.

今回のお客様は「企業内転勤」の在留資格からの永住申請となります。
就労系の在留資格からの永住申請は、継続して10年以上日本に在留しており、かつ、引き続き5年の就労資格をもって在留していることが原則的な継続居住要件となりますが、「高度専門職」の在留資格におけるポイント計算により、70点～80点未満または80点以上の点数を有する者と認められる場合には、高度専門職ビザからの永住申請と同様に、継続居住要件が緩和されます。
This customer is applying for permanent residence from an "intra-company transferee" residence status.
When applying for permanent residence from a work-related residence status, the basic continuous residence requirement is to have resided in Japan continuously for more than 10 years and have remained in Japan with work status for five consecutive years. However, if the point calculation for the "Highly Skilled Professional" residence status determines that the person has a score of 70-80 points or 80 points or more, the continuous residence requirement is relaxed, just like for permanent residence applications from Highly Skilled Professional visas.
