The customer who is residing in Japan on a working visa after studying abroad in Japan, wanted to apply for naturalization, but it turned out that the period of stay on his current working visa was only one year.
If the customer is applying for naturalization from a work-related residence status, the period of stay for the residence status at the time of application is required to be at least 3 years, just like when applying for a permanent residence permit. I have informed him that your application will not be approved.
The customer is currently in the process of renewing work visa, so we have asked the customer to wait for the results before contacting us again.

留学後、就労ビザで日本に在留されているお客様が帰化申請を希望したいとのことでしたが、現在の就労ビザの在留期間が１年しかないということした。
就労系の在留資格からの帰化申請を行うのであれば、永住許可申請と同様に、帰化申請においても申請時の在留資格の在留期間は３年以上を求められることになっていますので、現時点で申請されても不許可になることをお伝えいたしました。
現在就労ビザの更新中とのことですので、その結果を待ってから改めてご相談いただくことをお願いいたしました。
