A request from a TSMC supplier in Kumamoto for support in updating an engineer's work visa

Last year, a TSMC supplier company (a Japanese subsidiary of a Taiwanese company) that expanded into Kumamoto Prefecture requested our support in applying for a Certificate of Eligibility for the "Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services" visa for one of its engineer employees. The same client has now requested us again to apply for a renewal of the engineer's "Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services" visa.

[Points to note when renewing a work visa]

・Whether the employment contract is still valid

・Whether the actual work content is within the scope of the residence status

・Whether there are any problems with the actual living conditions in Japan, such as income, tax payment, insurance enrollment, etc.

・Whether there are any major discrepancies with the contents of the previous application

If there are any deficiencies in these elements, there is a risk that the period of stay may be shortened or that permission may be denied. Even if it is an extension, do not be complacent and think "it will be okay because it passed last time," but it is important to carefully check and prepare.

・雇用契約が継続されているかどうか

・実際の業務内容が在留資格の範囲内に収まっているか

・収入・納税・保険加入など、日本での生活実態に問題がないか

・前回の申請内容と大きな乖離がないか

これらの要素に不備がある場合、在留期間の短縮や不許可のリスクが生じることもあります。更新だからといって「前回通ったから大丈夫」と油断せず、丁寧に書類を準備することが大切です。
