このたび、弊所が永住申請のサポートをさせていただいたフィリピンご出身のお客様が、無事に永住許可を取得されました。
お客様は熊本県北にお住まいで、就労ビザで在留されており、日本に10年以上継続して居住されておりましたので、永住許可申請をサポートいたしました。
ご自身で永住許可申請を行ったものの、不許可になったとのことで昨年ご相談をいただき、再申請のサポートを行なわせていただきました。
申請後、数度追加資料の提出が求められたものの、無事に永住許可を受けることができました。この度、永住ビザが認められたことを大変嬉しく思っております。

もっとも、申請理由書の作成、各種書類の収集および提出手続き、さらには申請後の入管対応などにつきましては、ご自身で進めるにはご不安を感じられる場面も少なくないかと存じます。また、近年は永住許可申請の件数が増加傾向にあり、それに伴い審査期間が長期化する傾向も見受けられます。
なお、現在、政府においては永住許可要件の厳格化が検討されているとされており、将来的には、最長（5年）の在留期間を有する方に限定するといった、従来の原則に戻る可能性も指摘されています。その場合、現行制度のもとで申請可能な外国人の方が、今後はより限定される方向に進むことも予想されます。

We recently assisted a client from the Philippines with his permanent residency application, and he has successfully obtained permanent residency.
The client lives in northern Kumamoto Prefecture, is residing in Japan on a work visa, and has been continuously residing in Japan for over 10 years, so we assisted him with his permanent residency application.
He applied for permanent residency himself, but was denied, so he contacted us last year and we assisted him with his reapplication.
After applying, the immigration bureau requested the submission of additional documents several times, but he was successfully granted permanent residency. We are very pleased that his permanent residency visa has been approved.

However, we understand that there may be many situations where you feel uneasy about completing the application statement, collecting and submitting various documents, and dealing with immigration authorities after applying. In addition, the number of permanent residence applications has been increasing in recent years, and as a result, the review period is also becoming longer.
Furthermore, the government is currently considering tightening the requirements for permanent residence permits, and it has been pointed out that in the future, there is a possibility of returning to the previous principle of limiting application to those with the longest period of stay (5 years). If that happens, it is expected that the number of foreigners eligible to apply for permanent residence will become even more limited in the future.
