【Request for reapplication for permanent residence from "Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services" visa | Customer in Kumamoto Prefecture】
We received a request for assistance with a permanent residency application from a Canadian national residing in Kumamoto Prefecture.

The client in this case holds the “Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services” residency status and is applying for permanent residence from that status.
In general, applicants under this status are required to have continuously resided in Japan for at least 10 years, unless they qualify for the Highly Skilled Professional point-based system.
In addition to this requirement, other conditions—such as stable income, a secure living foundation, and proper tax payments—must also be met, as outlined in the "Guidelines for Permission for Permanent Residence" set by the Immigration Services Agency of Japan.
This client has requested full support, so we will do our utmost to ensure that the process for obtaining permanent residency proceeds smoothly, from guiding them through the necessary documents and collecting various certificates from government offices to preparing and submitting application documents, and handling communications with the Immigration Services Agency during the review period.
